The Moon will be eclipsed on Monday, March 25th from 12:53am – 5:32am, Eastern Daylight time. The full eclipse will occur between 2:59am and 3:13am, Eastern Daylight time. (Please adjust for your time zone. You can find more information about any location/time zone at the link below.) Penumbral eclipses occur when the shadow of the Earth falls across the Moon. A penumbral eclipse is only slightly darker than the Full Moon, and some people may not be able to see much difference between this eclipse and a regular Full Moon. This eclipse will be visible in the Americas, Canada, western Africa and Europe, Japan and eastern Australia. It will not be visible in India, China, eastern Africa, eastern Europe, or western Australia. For a complete map, please visit:

Although eclipses can bring challenges, they also bring wonderful spiritual opportunities. The benefits of spiritual practices, meditation, etc., are greatly multiplied (as much as 1000%) during an eclipse. If your schedule and health allow, offering mantras/prayers/meditation and other spiritual practices is especially beneficial during an eclipse. Offering charitable donations to women in need, or persons who suffer from mental/emotional illness, is especially beneficial during an eclipse and those who have computer access can do so easily during this time. The Moon represents the Divine Feminine, so honoring and caring for women is a wonderful way to celebrate this lunar eclipse.

When the Moon is eclipsed, some people experience depression, anxiety, or confusion. People who are experiencing emotional and/or mental illness may have worsening symptoms at this time. Please check in with your health care professional and/or support system if your symptoms are causing any difficulty for you.

Eclipses come in pairs. When the lunar eclipse comes first, as it does during this eclipse season, emotional difficulties may be more intense for some people than they usually are. Please be aware of this possibility and check-in with your support system if you have any difficulty in the next few days. If you know someone who is struggling now, check in with them if you can. If you are offering prayers/mantras now, please include healthcare providers and their support staff in your prayers and intentions.

If you follow Vedic astrology, please be aware that Ketu is the eclipse point for this lunar eclipse. Ketu can cause us to exaggerate our faults and minimize our gifts. Many people, including you, may be more self-critical and prone toward perfectionism at this time. Rather than focusing on what you feel are your negative qualities, use this time to express your gratitude for the Divine Feminine, and the wonderful women in your life. If you notice others judging themselves harshly now, express your gratitude for their strengths and loving qualities. And remember to be grateful for your own strengths and gifts, too.
