There will be a partial Solar Eclipse in sidereal Pisces on March 29, 2025. The eclipse will be partially visible in northeastern US/Canada/Greenland/Northern & Western Europe/the edge of Morocco and the Northern Sahara.
It begins at 4:50am, EDT/1:50am Pacific (please adjust for your time zone) but will not be visible in the Northeastern US until sunrise at 6:48am, with the maximum event at approximately 6:51am, EDT. This partial eclipse ends at approximately 7:04am, EDT.
According to Vedic teaching, the benefits of spiritual practice are greatly increased during an eclipse (up to 1000%), so meditation, mantras, prayer, and acts of charity are all strongly encouraged. Going outside to observe the eclipse is not recommended. Fasting is encouraged if your health allows.
Vedic astrology uses the sidereal zodiac which is 23 degrees behind the tropical zodiac used in western astrology. This means that the eclipse is happening in the sign of Pisces for those who use the sidereal zodiac.
During this eclipse, in addition to the conjunction of the Sun Moon and Rahu, Venus and Mercury are also conjunct. For those who use the outer planets, Neptune is also in this conjunction. Venus and Mercury are both retrograde during this eclipse.
Saturn is also in this conjunction, entering Pisces at 12:15pm, less than 5 hours after the end of the eclipse. For those with the Moon placed in Aries, Saturn’s transit begins the 7.5 year transit known as Sadesati. If this applies to you, an astrological reading is highly recommended.
Although Venus is retrograde during this eclipse, she is exalted and benefic in Pisces. Venus rules relationships between romantic partners and long-term friends. Including your partner and dearest friends in the intentions for your spiritual practices during the eclipse is highly beneficial. Because Venus is retrograde, you may experience confusion and some difficulties in communicating with these important people in your life—take time to think about and appreciate these people before saying anything critical to them. If possible, postpone major decisions until April 20th.
Mercury is also retrograde now and very weak in Pisces. Take special care in making decisions and communicating with others until April 14th(at the earliest.)
